“This is my first review on a hotel. We were given a room on 6th floor, didn't realize/know it's under the gym/fitness room. At 11:30pm, right after we fall sleep, someone started to run on the treadmill and wake me up... luckily it did not last very long. Then at 6:30am, someone again started to logging, and doing weight lifting etc.. it's so loud and noisy, I can feel the ceiling & building is shaking. Can't get sleep at all! Had to call front desk for help, however they can't do much about it. Very very bad experience.Really don't understand how the hotel designer is thinking.. Put fitness room on 7th floor and expect guests in underneath room to sleep with a smile? You can't do business like this.”

“I hate writing bad reviews, but this needs to be written.I am a loyal Marriott Rewards member, and I appreciate the Marriott quality.I found my first exception to Marriott standards.I am staying at the Renaissance Downtown Providence RI.We checked in two nights ago.The first night and morning, there was no hot water, and we had to take cold showers.Today we returned to our room about 8:30, the door did not work.An engineer had to be called to fix the door.30 minutes later we finally get in our room only to find the room has not been serviced. We complain. Its now our bedtime and no one has serviced our room.I would leave this hotel now if I had alternative.Do not stay here.It an expensive hotel, and certainly not worth the money.”
