Fui ao restaurante pela segunda vez no final de semana passado. Infelizmente, eles não têm mais no cardápio o bolinho de feijoada que é típico do RJ e que fora o que nos fizera ir lá e levar um amigo amazonense que visitava o RJ.De qualquer forma, o ambiente continua muito agradável e limpo. O atendimento é bom. O cardápio é bem restrito. A comida é bem feita. Pedimos bolinho de linguiça. Simples e bom!Ainda recomendo.

Um pub em uma república... Meio sufocante... tinha q melhorar a forma de ventilação interna. O interessante é a parte externa bem agradável. Mas nao muito caro, Boa comida e uma boa música. Vale a diversão.

Infelizmente o quarto entregue foi muito diferente dos quartos mostrados online. Me senti em uma caixa preta sem janelas, sem alma, sem vida. A proposta do hotel é legal mas não chega para todos

Pontos positivos: o lugar é muito intimista, acolhedor, muito aberto, fora da caixa e diferente! O banheiro é bem novinho e o jogo de luzes deixa ele muito aconchegante! A cama e roupas de cama são extremamente confortáveis! O café da manhã é gostoso, poderia ser mais completinho (tipo omelete, outra opção mais saudável...)Pontos negativos: não tem cobertura em diversos pontos, então em dias de chuva você fica completamente molhado só pra ir tomar café, por exemplo. As janelas fechadas são assustadoras, além disso alguns vidros não tem proteção então as pessoas de fora conseguem te ver! A falta de frigobar é um ponto negativo pra mim. Por ter restaurante, você se sente bem acoado em levar/pedir comida e tem mesas “excluídas” para fazer isso, o cardápio não é muito variado. Eu e uma amiga levamos um vinho certo dia e teríamos que pagar R$60 para consumir no local! Achamos muito ruim, pois tivemos que comer e beber no chão do quarto por falta de espaço. Por não ter nada proximo, o hotel poderia oferecer um espaço de academia.Por fim, é um lugar muito bom para turistas e pra conhecer, vale muito a pena, é fantástico! Para uma viagem a trabalho ou de um tempo mais longo não recomendo!

O hotel fica em uma localização bem restrita e evitada por uber ou taxistas dado o risco de subir os morros, então esteja ciente... será difícil e demorado (e caro!) conseguir algum transporte para outras regiões.No que diz respeito ao hotel em si, tive um atendimento extremamente precário! Tanto na recepção, quanto no café a regra é demora e pouca vontade. As informações são impossíveis de serem conseguidas.O restaurante possui um cardápio muito restrito e super caro para o ambiente - além de não ser dos melhores. O café da manhã é gostoso, mas com pouquíssimas opções; além disso, o tempo todo está faltando alguma coisa e a equipe não providência caso não seja solicitada. Chegou ao cúmulo de faltar ÁGUA e CAFÉ no café da manhã.O quarto é pessimamente projetado. Gigante e sem nada dentro... não possui frigobar, nem espelhos que possam ser utilizados (o do banheiro é mínimo). Alguns vidros da janela são cobertos com papel contact e ficam umas frestas que jogam luminosidade no rosto de quem está tentando dormir.O banheiro não tem explicações... o box é apenas pela metade e não há diferença de altura entre o local para banho e o resto. Resultado? Um banheiro completamente alagado todas as vezes que o chuveiro é ligado. Passei todo o tempo da hospedagem tendo que entrar no banheiro com havaianas e estender toalhas pelo chão...

Nice place with modern rooms. The space is cool and has a good atmosphere. The breakfast was good too. Really enjoyed the neighborhood...lots of little shops within walking distance.

Lovely and very engaged staff, nice modern rooms and good breakfast - incredibly high value for money.We upgraded to a suite and had a room of modern style with a great bed. Definitely a recommendation.

Nice and cosy hotel! Not barrier-free, many stairs and no Elevator. In the middle of a Beautiful district, and also close to nature, we had the possibility to observe Monkeys from our hotelroom!

Mama Shelter is a small artsy hotel with uniquely designed rooms in Santa Teresa up the hill. Getting there from Rio central by foot is definitely doable (and should be done at least once), but be aware it's quite exhausting. Getting there by car, however is definitely a bumpy ride.The lady checking us in was very friendly and made us feel at home immediately. We very much appreciated her helpful recommendations and enjoyed the nice chats.Our room (104) was very spacious and individually designed. We liked fact that there were two showers and two wash basins, even though all of them did run off very slowly. The bed was super comfortable. The complimentary waters in the room were very appreciated. The window shutters (in order to get any light in the room) need getting used to, however they perfectly fit the style of the hotel.As for breakfast: the selection was quite small compared to other Accor hotels, however the food seemed prepared with love (e.g. freshly baked bread, juices out of glass bottles with handwritten labels). We feel that is a perfect match to the style and the target guest group the hotel is aiming for.The breakfast room is also used as a restaurant and visited by locals as well. We enjoyed it once in the evening. The area with deck chairs and showers for sunbathing, a foosball table and ping pong and the multiple seating areas throughout the premises created a very cozy atmosphere enabling interactions with other guests. We liked the word plays with "Mama" and the gift shop, we even bought a "Yo Mama" shirt.We did enjoy the Accor loyalty recognition through a room upgrade, welcome cookies and welcome drinks at the restaurant and felt safe and valued throughout our stay.

Wow. Mama is always right. The hotel and restaurant were incredible. Tasty food. Great service. Hip design. My wife and I can here on our honeymoon and would definitely recommend the hotel and the Santa Teresa neighborhood. Very artsy and lively.

Beautiful industrial chic rooms and vibes with a great restaurant at great prices. Good drinks menu with a couple of proper deadly beers on offer. Location wise it's smack in the middle of Santa Therese which is a sorta bohemian local with friendly people and little shops. Gloria is the closest metro station but be warned, Santa Theresa is built on a hill so walking anywhere can get rough after a few days. Views are great and during Carnival there is Blocos everywhere but the hotel area generally remains quiet. DJ every Friday and Saturday nights.

Lo Positivo: Es un lugar muy agradable, el decorado es muy propio del lugar, realmente muy acogedor. El área de comida tiene una estética muy linda, es amplia y el buffet es variado, con ricas opciones de alimentos y bebidas. Puedes encontrar tanto leche de soya como agua de coco como alternativas a la leche y el café. El personal es sumamente amable, es lo mejor del hotel en sí mismo; desde que llegas hay un recibimiento con la mejor de las actitudes que te hace sentir bien acogido. Si tienes dudas o requieres ayuda puedes con facilidad acercarte a recepción y su buen trato y disposición contribuyen a no tener recelo de solicitar algun dato. Me ayudaron a contactar a un amigo por teléfono, me autorizaron a tomar fotos por todo el lugar e hicimos una muy amena platica al momento de marcharnos del hotel, regalandonos recuerdos del mismo.El baño es placentero.La zona está cerca de una parada del tranvía, por lo que puedes tomarlo para ir y venir. la zona del hotel es segura aunque está un poco alejada de las zonas de interés.En el restaurante del hotel tienen unas empanadas increíblemente deliciosas, rayos, quisiera una ahora mismo, no sé de que eran, tenían gusto a comida china, pero eran de 10!Lo negativo (quiza): Dependiendo del tipo de persona que seas, lo negativo sería la habitación en sí misma, aunque las áreas circundantes y pasillos tengan su encanto, la habitación se ve aprecia muy incompleta. no hay un guardarropa o closet en cual guardar tu ropa, sólo hay unos 3 ganchos colocados en clavos en la pared. la luz es muy tenue, dependiendo de la habitación o edificio que te toque habrá variaciones respecto a su configuración.Los muebles son de huacales, un poco hispter/minimalista para mi en armonía con el precio.Me parece que las habitaciones dobles están en el mismo edificio de recepción, y las habitaciones para una persona estan en el edificio frontal, cruzando la calle, que fue en el que me quedé.En el del edificio de recepción hay hamacas fuera de los cuartos y buena entrada de luz de día, aunque unas habitaciones tienen trancadas las ventanas, por lo que no pueden abrirse ni ventilarse.En el edificio frontal, por lo menos en mi cuarto sí puede abrirse la ventana, lo cuales muy importante ya que tanto el edificio como la habitación es muy oscura.Pero volvería si tuviese la opción la misma zona.

Service with a smile, nicely authentic rooms, helpful staff and warm ambience. Not for business but tourism. Stairs to the rooms are a killer though.

Great setting, but even though it is stated that bar closes at 01:00, they refused to serve us at 23:45, saying that the bar already closed...

Great place (location) but we had a room in front of the street with a very bad smell in the bathroom... for one night it’s a good stay.

Best bar & Restaurant in Santa Teresa, excellent to celebrate birthdays and whatever you have to celebrate. Great music and atmosphere. Service is excellent.

I really enjoyed my stay at Mama Shelter!!! The room was not big but had a balcony/terrace just outside that really helped with additional space. I loved the big windows that let in all that gorgeous Rio sunlight!! Very friendly staff and an awesome warehouse like lounge/restaurant/performing hall. And location!? OMG nothing beats Santa Teresa neighbourhood !!! Highly recommended property if traveling to Rio.

Good space, quick service, and polite staff. If you enjoy huge spaces this is your place to visit. They have bar and restaurant separate. Few extra wine options in the restaurant, than the bar. Bar has good selection of alcohol cocktails. In starters we got mini chicken legs, rice and aipim croquettes. Since the service got delayed the chef gave us cod fish croquettes as a courtesy. Just in case you like spicy food. You won't get that here. The chicken mentions it's a bit spicy but, wasn't and the pepper sauce they gave was not either. In case if you get hammered which I mean drunk it's a hotel too so you can sleepover and have an amazing breakfast next day morning.

This was my second visit to Rio and I'm so glad I chose to stay in Santa Teresa at the Mama Shelter. The hotel is what I would describe as "boutique", it has character, art, smaller in size...

We had never been to Rio de Janeiro before coming here and ended up booking this place by chance. We are extremely happy we did! They are very helpful with making tour bookings, and explaining about...

It was worth to stay a little outside of the main turistic area in Rio! We found a space with a lot of hype, atmosphere and mood! Food was tasty, staff always smiling and friendly! FD staff were...
