Relação espaços/hospedes muito boa, a praia era bastante espaçosa, principalmente comparando com o centro da playa del carmen que neste momento não tem areia! Para quem pretende descansar este hotel é o ideal, pois apesar de não ser exclusivo a adultos, poucas crianças vimos. Para quem pretende uma pouco de agitação, tem mesmo em frente o Riu Tequila (excelente festa branca na 5f) ou o Playacar e Yucatan. O que mais gostámos foi a alimentação. A melhor que já tivemos nas Caraíbas. Muita variedade, qualidade e quantidade. Os restaurantes temáticos para o jantar não precisam de reserva e talvez por isso foi sempre fácil ir a qualquer um. Foi a 1ª vez num hotel do grupo Riu, e ficámos clientes. O conceito Palace, surpreendeu-nos claramente pela positiva.

Service was fantastic! We have been to a few all inclusives and we were very impressed with the service and overall quality at this resort.The food at all the restaurants was excellent, especially the Steakhouse and Italian restaurants. The Buffet had a very vast selection and the food was always fresh.The beach and pool areas were very clean and well kept.The waiters and waitresses were always around and asking if we needed anything.The rooms were not the newest but they were clean. In our experience, if you are looking for something to complain about you will find it, even if you are staying at the Four Seasons.Notable employees during our stay were Ramon and Axel serving drinks by the pool and beach area. German and Francisco at the Mexican and steakhouse restaurants. The lady who made the custom omelettes in the morning and the other lady making lattes at the coffee bar.We don’t usually write reviews, but we felt compelled to share what a great experience we had.This was our first time staying at a RIU and would definitely go back!

Conozco la cadena de hace tiempo, pero en esta estadía de diciembre en el bufete me pareció muy básico, no generosos como antes, se nota que econonomizaron. El bufete de comida era lo mismo todos los días, llegó aburrir comer lo mismo o no tener opciones diferentes para probar. En la cena en los restaurantes a la carta me negaron repetir un plato, cómo tratándome de muerto de hambre y eso fue muy humillante para mí.

Beach was beautiful. Found buffet food amazing! We didn't even try any of the speciality restaurants found no need too . Rooms could be updated a bit but still beautiful . Room service could use a few more options but to be able to get any kind of food 24/7 is amazing loved that you could fill out your breakfast the previous night and wake up too hot fresh coffee!! Grounds clean and safe . Most importantly the service was absolutely outstanding Germain at the lobby bar was always there with a smile and with exquisite martinis and conversation ! Manolo the bellman always running his butt off to help. Manuel and Francisco the door men would have anything we needed ready even before we knew we wanted them !! Amazing guys all of them make you feel like freinds you have known for years let's not forget Abraham and Francisco from guacamole service second too none . No exaggerations here I would go here simply for the people extream bonus the rest of the resort is amazing as well . Already have a second trip here booked . Karen at the front desk was always super helpful as well . Go here you won't be disappointed

Que lástimaque sea un 10 de hotel en cuanto a infraestructura y por lo menos servicio en restaurante y buena comida; pero que todo eso se caiga por la borda al encontrar que han abierto tu caja fuerte y te hayan robado, que no hagan nada porque no lo harán.Es un hotel “de lujo” y que no vean ese pequeño gran detalle, lo sentimos pero no volvería a repetir ni los 28 integrantes de la familia que nos hospedamos ahí! Que PENA.

Muy lamentable, celebramos el 66 aniversario de mis abuelitos. Nos hospedamos 27 personas y nos han robado a varios hasta de la caja fuerte. Es increíble que vas a un hotel de categoría alta a pásala bien en familia y que te roben, no es posible. Sabemos que no nos van a resolver nada (porque así son) pero es importante que la gente sepa en qué tipo de hotel se están hospedando.

Todo muy bien hasta que un día la caja fuerte no abrió y tuvimos que llamar a mantenimiento para abrirla, al darme cuenta me habían ROBADO dinero y un anillo, Nadie se hizo cargo de eso ni de otros objetos que robaron a otros familiares! Una vergüenza que en un hotel como este estén pasando estas cosas !’ NO LO RECOMIENDO 🤬

Even though the hotel is fully booked, the service level and the quality of the food is always excellent and exceeding my expectations. Several people (such as Carlos, the second restaurant manager) impressed me due to their souvereign and confident acting while handling difficult guests. I also want to mention the superb customer orientation of the reception team. Overall a great experience in Riu Palace Mexico which I can - without any caveat - fully recommend. My advise is to spend 30usd more for a room that is oriented towards the inside area of the hotel with its beautiful park and water basins. My room 1059 is perfectly located to reach both, beach and dinner restaurants easily.

Beautiful resort, food was very good with lots of choices the services of the staff was better than excellent, rooms were nice and clean and house keeping did a very good job. Rooms could use a refresh but considering the pandemic its understandable. We truly had a great time and are already planning a return trip. Thank you again to all the staff for your hospitality

Service is friendly, fast and highly professional. Very clean facilities Food diversity and quality are exceptional. . You free to explore others four RIU hotels. Main entrance has a palace style. Rooms are spacious. In room toilets are low budget proletarian style, whoever designed it hates humans. Shadow at the beach is well above average with many thin trimmed palms.

Loved the hotel, incredible food, beach and rooms. The food choices are between the buffet and 4 a la carte restaurants for dinner, and unlike the other all inclusive hotels, the guests are not limited to how many non-buffet dinners (and how often) they can go to. Highly recommend La Bodega restaurant in the hotel, which offers incredible Mexican food. Krystal restaurant is also amazing, but suggest to come for dinner earlier as the restaurant fills up fast. But even the buffet choices are incredible, even for people with major dietary restrictions. Highlight of the hotel is the beach and its free water sport activities (offered on the beach in the Scuba hut)
Finally, around 8 am you can see green parrots flying from one palm tree to another where the beach begins (the parrots disappear when it gets warmer, but are there in the mornings)

Seleccionamos las habitaciones de doble piso con Jacuzzi vista al mar, muy bonitas pero realmente no terminas de aprovecharlas ya que quieres disfrutar más de la playa y los servicios en las albercas. La vista si es inigualable. Como siempre la comida en los Palace muy recomendable.

Really nice facility. Beach there was really nice and clean. It was pretty quiet when we went during the off-season. The staff was amazing - they always made everything fun and really took care of us. The only complaints were 1. The third party they use for transportation is not great. Probably would have been better off just booking our own. 2. The food regarding being vegetarian. With the buffet there’s not really much consideration for cross contamination for what should be considered vegetarian food and the meat. For example I wanted to grab a cheese quesadilla but the tongs were set out to use for that and some sausages or other meat. Everything is cooked on the same surface so a couple times biting into things you could taste some meaty juices and just makes the item inedible to a vegetarian. Utensils being mixed like cutting meat and then a vegetarian pizza defeats the whole purpose.

Comida maravilhosa, equipe atenciosa e lugar lindo. Local perfeito para descansar e comer. Não é indicado pra quem quer farra, mas indicado para quem quer estar nas piscinas, comer bem e ser muito bem atendido. Atenção: a praia possui muitas algas que pode inviabilizar o banho, mas as piscinas e a proximidade com vários pontos turísticos tornam o local ainda mais atrativo. Ficamos 17 dias e não tenho nada a reclamar do hotel. Ao contrário, só posso elogiar demais a comida, os quartos e a equipe.

Péssimo hotel, instalações velhas, atendimento horrível, funcionários se fingem de mortos, não podemos fazer “late checall” de 1 hora mesmo pagando . Quando está na praia o atendimento é pior ainda .

Everything is perfect! Staid here in April 9 days and we all love it !
Very clean , hotel is at 30% capacity, they have full restaurants open with everything there! A LOT of very good food! Drinks are amazing ! Service is top notch!
Beach is super clean and everything is organized.

Em família, passámos 14 dias neste hotel, incluindo o Natal, e repetiríamos a experiência. Sem dúvida o melhor Hotel Riu da região e um dos melhores comparativamente com as outras cadeias hoteleiras. Merece todo o destaque pela sua condição de 1ª linha de praia, pelo seu serviço e staff e pela gastronomia de qualidade. Funcionários verdadeiramente atenciosos, destaco o chefe de sala Santoyo e o Daniel, ambos do buffet geral, assim como o Joe da animação. O Palace Mexico é um verdadeiro TI para quem procura qualidade e serviço sempre com duas opções de buffet e os 5 restaurantes temáticos. Os bares equiparam-se ao nível dos restaurantes com bebidas premium e mesmo em alturas de ocupação total, não existia confusão ou demoras nos pedidos. A nossa noite de Natal foi um marco, com toda a preparação na zona do show e do buffet de uma verdadeira feira de Natal com diversas surpresas e um buffet de excelência onde estavam incluídas lagostas e carnes Angus. A distância entre a piscina e a praia é mínima, sendo que estando nas cadeiras da piscina, é praticamente estarmos dentro da praia. E mesmo assim, os espaços do hotel conseguem estar incrivelmente limpos de areia. Este não engana, é para ir de olhos fechados.

I’ve been to several Riu’s in Mexico and this is by far my favorite one. The hotel is clean, the food that is served is fresh and delicious... the workers are incredibly kind and hardworking. You can’t go wrong with staying here.

We spent two amazing weeks at this resort last year - and we scheduled our honeymoon for June 2020. However COVID made it impossible to travel to Mexico. Hopefully we can rebook for June 2021 - and see the amazing staff again. Really a lovely place!

Just returned from a stay at Riu Palace Mexico Feb27-Mar5 2020 and it was fantastic!The friendliness of the staff made the trip. Not to mention the lovely rooms with special decorations from housekeeping, great food and dinner service.We absolutely loved the lobby bar, the bartenders/staff (Felix, Luis) were lovely and personable, and the piano player was fantastic. We planned our evenings to listen to him.The food service staff (Santiago, Ana) weregreat to interact with.Ermilo, Ariel, Rueben, Omar and Axel at the pool bar made our days so much better.The entertainment staff were so enthusiastic and got everyone up and interacting (and thanks to them we now know my husband looks like Canelo) ;)We will definitely return and recommend it to anyone!

Las habitaciones muy amplias y la limpieza perfecta( soy muy obse con eso!!)La calidad de la comida es muy buena y variada.La playa es súper amplia y el hotel es muy tranquilo. La mejor opción para poder disfrutar y relajarse en familia.Es la segunda vez que lo elegimos y conociendo otros hoteles en la zona volveremos a elegir este Riu sin dudarlo.

Just arrived back 20200209spent a great week at the Riu Palace Mexico.Having vacationed yearly for the past 25 years !This was the best holiday ever! Having visited several other Riu properties in the past this was by far the best one!Service, meals, rooms ,pools and beaches and friendly efficient staff were all above and beyond other properties. TERRIBLE!!! This hotel should be avoided!!!Our family travels regularly 2-3 times a year.This is the first time that I felt compelled to write a review to warn other travelers. We are still on the property and are scheduled to leave on Sunday, February 23rd.CONS:** We paid extra to be in superior junior room, what we didn’t pay extra for were ROACHES in Room 2149!!! My husband killed one two days ago, then the following day there were three, and then yesterday when we returned to the room from dinner and show, there were at least 5. To top it off, my daughter got food poisoning and not to be graphic, got sick all over the bed. Tried calling front desk, no answer. Went there in person. To be fair, the housekeeper came to change the bedding very quickly. When I came back from the front desk, there were 2 more roaches in the bathroom. I went back to the front desk and requested a room change. It was already midnight. We were offered similar room (1149) directly below exactly one floor down, which we declined because we were afraid that it is infested as well since such a close proximity and another room on the same floor in the next building over, which we accepted. So, at this point it is after midnight, we have a sick teenager, and moving to another room. It took my husband and I two hours to pack, move, and unpack everything. What a “wonderful” vacation experience.** Also, I am disappointed at the treatment by the front desk staff. When I originally requested housekeeping service due to my daughter being sick, I wasn’t asked what was wrong or offered any type of assistance. When I came back a few minutes later to request the room change, I was asked what was wrong and very “helpfully” was told if my daughter needs medicine to stop vomiting, I need to walk out of the resort, make right, walk for a few minutes down the street OUTSIDE RESORT AT MIDNIGHT to local Seven Eleven. Is this place for REAL?????** Food - since my daughter got food poisoning, it speaks volumes about quality and sanitary conditions. If I were to disregard my daughter getting sick, the food quality overall is mediocre at best. Breakfast buffet is great - huge variety, clean, and air conditioned. Lunch - big problem. The buffet next to the beach is outside and not air conditioned. Food is not being handled properly and not kept at the appropriate temperatures. Dinner - some places are decent and some are just bad. Crystal (Fusion a la carte) was very good - the food was very fresh and tasty. Mexican restaurant was ok. Expected better variety and service, but decent overall. Steakhouse - stay away. The prime rib was tough and inedible. No one in our group of 15 (5 families traveling together) had anything nice to say about the dinner experience there. Japanese - food was inedible. Served barely warm and just NOT GOOD. Dinner buffet - very good. My daughter got food poisoning either from eating at lunch buffet or in Japanese restaurant.** Rooms - outdated and tacky. Privacy partition (curtain) is silly. Place needs a major facelift. The mini fridge has plenty of water and soft drinks. Large bottles of water provided for teeth brushing and making coffee.** Beach - no huts. Palm trees do not provide enough consistent shade. If you need shade, this is not a beach for you. If you prefer to be in the sun with some intermittent shade, you will not have a problem. The beach is clean and the water is nice. No sea weed and soft white sand.***After contacting hotel management earlier today, the assistant manager offered us compensation that is completely INSULTING!!! We were offered 3 twenty five minute massages in a room and a dinner tomorrow night at the FREE restaurant. In what world is this a sufficient compensation for roach infested room, not sleeping at night because we had to switch rooms, our child being food poisoned, and missing at least 2 days of vacation???

TERRIBLE!!! This hotel should be avoided!!!Our family travels regularly 2-3 times a year.This is the first time that I felt compelled to write a review to warn other travelers. We are still on the property and are scheduled to leave on Sunday, February 23rd.CONS:** We paid extra to be in superior junior room, what we didn’t pay extra for were ROACHES in Room 2149!!! My husband killed one two days ago, then the following day there were three, and then yesterday when we returned to the room from dinner and show, there were at least 5. To top it off, my daughter got food poisoning and not to be graphic, got sick all over the bed. Tried calling front desk, no answer. Went there in person. To be fair, the housekeeper came to change the bedding very quickly. When I came back from the front desk, there were 2 more roaches in the bathroom. I went back to the front desk and requested a room change. It was already midnight. We were offered similar room (1149) directly below exactly one floor down, which we declined because we were afraid that it is infested as well since such a close proximity and another room on the same floor in the next building over, which we accepted. So, at this point it is after midnight, we have a sick teenager, and moving to another room. It took my husband and I two hours to pack, move, and unpack everything. What a “wonderful” vacation experience.** Also, I am disappointed at the treatment by the front desk staff. When I originally requested housekeeping service due to my daughter being sick, I wasn’t asked what was wrong or offered any type of assistance. When I came back a few minutes later to request the room change, I was asked what was wrong and very “helpfully” was told if my daughter needs medicine to stop vomiting, I need to walk out of the resort, make right, walk for a few minutes down the street OUTSIDE RESORT AT MIDNIGHT to local Seven Eleven. Is this place for REAL?????** Food - since my daughter got food poisoning, it speaks volumes about quality and sanitary conditions. If I were to disregard my daughter getting sick, the food quality overall is mediocre at best. Breakfast buffet is great - huge variety, clean, and air conditioned. Lunch - big problem. The buffet next to the beach is outside and not air conditioned. Food is not being handled properly and not kept at the appropriate temperatures. Dinner - some places are decent and some are just bad. Crystal (Fusion a la carte) was very good - the food was very fresh and tasty. Mexican restaurant was ok. Expected better variety and service, but decent overall. Steakhouse - stay away. The prime rib was tough and inedible. No one in our group of 15 (5 families traveling together) had anything nice to say about the dinner experience there. Japanese - food was inedible. Served barely warm and just NOT GOOD. Dinner buffet - very good. My daughter got food poisoning either from eating at lunch buffet or in Japanese restaurant.** Rooms - outdated and tacky. Privacy partition (curtain) is silly. Place needs a major facelift. The mini fridge has plenty of water and soft drinks. Large bottles of water provided for teeth brushing and making coffee.** Beach - no huts. Palm trees do not provide enough consistent shade. If you need shade, this is not a beach for you. If you prefer to be in the sun with some intermittent shade, you will not have a problem. The beach is clean and the water is nice. No sea weed and soft white sand.***After contacting hotel management earlier today, the assistant manager offered us compensation that is completely INSULTING!!! We were offered 3 twenty five minute massages in a room and a dinner tomorrow night at the FREE restaurant. In what world is this a sufficient compensation for roach infested room, not sleeping at night because we had to switch rooms, our child being food poisoned, and missing at least 2 days of vacation???

Very nice resort . I have been there for the first time 3 years ago and it was my very first experience in a all included resort. I can say that it was amazing. I live the fact that the little city is very near by a reasonable walk distance so you can enjoy the local restaurant and shopping. The pools area is amazing, the restaurant offer a great variety of food and a nice environnement.The rooms are confortable and the design is similar to all the riu hotel.

I would love to give this hotel 5 stars. The food is fantastic, the rooms are very nice, the staff friendly and helpful, however:This is advertised with TUI as a 5 star hotel. It would be if it wasnt for the day to day drunken antics of guests that seem to find getting drunk, shouting and generally being disruptive to all good fun while the bar staff and waiters stand and enjoy fueling this because they are being tipped well by these guests. Someone in this hotel needs to get a grip of this situation if they wish to maintain a 5 star rating as a more suitable title would be an out of control party palace.Also, music. Why have music playing at the pool bar which is being drowned out by a rather irritating animation teams PA system some 30 metres away mixed in with those mentioned above with their own speakers playing something else which can only be described as of selective taste.Again, 5 stars I think not. Perhaps management should came and sit on a sunbed today as I am doing and savour the delights of their 5 star hotel being treated like a 3 star booze break!Our first time at a RIU and possible our last due to the lack of management control and thought to those having spent a lot of money based on something it appears it appears it is not.

Very nice resort . I have been there for the first time 3 years ago and it was my very first experience in a all included resort. I can say that it was amazing. I live the fact that the little city is very near by a reasonable walk distance so you can enjoy the local restaurant and shopping. The pools area is amazing, the restaurant offer a great variety of food and a nice environnement.The rooms are confortable and the design is similar to all the riu hotel.

Excellent hotel with all you can expect from a 5 star. The staff are friendly and accommodating, they cannot do enough for you. This all inclusive hotel offers all you could possibly wish for from 24hr premium drinks service to wonderful lobster and probably the best steak you will ever have tasted. Apart from the buffet dining room there are other dining experiences on offer. Japanese (which is really a combination of Vienamese, Chinese, and Japanese), Italian, Fusion, Steak House, and sadly to our disappointment The Bodega which is Mexican. Service and food there needs a real shake up I'm afraid.The rest we had no complaints.Our favourite was the Guacamole Steak house where we thoroughly enjoyed the steak and lobster. The rooms are nice but need a little TLC now as they are showing a bit of age. Cleanliness is excellent. Staying at the Palace Mexico entitles you to visit the other RIU hotels including those in Cancun for drinks, shows or lunch only. The beach has plenty of sunbeds and drinks are served there all day. Non motorised water sports are free.All in all a great place to take a vacation.At the hotel now December 2019. Will need to down-rate my star review to between 3 and 4 now. Big change in food, all overcooked even the steak / lobster restaurant unfortunately.Will post another review separately if I can.

Late November we were at the RIU Palace Mexico for the first time. In short: wow, just wow.I don’t know where to start to describe the hotel, it’s pretty, well maintained, well cleaned – and the staff is just very friendly. Never have I encountered friendlier staff then here.We booked our trip through TUI.nl – which included the flight from Amsterdam and transfer from Cancun airport to the hotel. The buss ride takes an hour.Food;Most of the time we had breakfast at the hotel. Twice we left the hotel too early, so we had breakfast in the “24 Lounge” which offers some food and drinks 24/7.For dinner, we’ve only seen the buffet restaurant twice. It contained a lot of good food though. Mostly we visited the a-la-carte restaurants which are also included in the all-inclusive. Not that the buffet was not good, but we don’t eat that often in a-la-carte restaurants, so… It was quite an experience. The a-la-carte restaurants are not so big in size, but strangely enough, there was never a queue. Reservation is not required.Pools;They have multiple smaller pools with a good number of loungers. Some of them have an umbrella, others have some kind of a fabric roof. One pool has a pool bar. Next to the pools, they have quite some loungers on the beach as well. The beach is pretty wide and deep. So, lots of room.They offer free towels. You get a towel-card which can be exchanged for a towel. The towel-card has to be returned during checkout.We spent two days at the beach / pools, without seeing any loud guests. There was some entertainment at the pool sometimes, but that was to be expected and not disturbing.Room;We booked a normal room, which looks exactly like in the pictures. Two nice beds next to each other, a table with sofa, table with two chairs, a bathtub in the room, shower and toilet. They offer toiletries, etc.First surprise when entering our room, were the bottles of alcohol. Apparently, the liquor bottles and the fridge are restocked every day. We had planned so many trips and activities, I had almost no time to drink.Weather;I always found the pools to be cold at first, same for the sea. It took me a minute to get used to the cold water. But I guess that was because of the weather. End of November 2019, it was always 28 degrees, rarely a cloud, and no rain. But this is still the winter season, so in the mornings and evenings it goes down to 20 degrees (which is still very nice!). Which leaves the water with less time to heat?Playacar;The hotel is located in the Playacar complex, which is an enclosed area with normal houses and hotels. Security is good, you can’t enter the complex without telling security what you are coming to do.In the complex is a small shopping area where they sell tourist stuff. There’s a pharmacy, and a Starbucks.Money;There’s an ATM at the hotel, which only has a Spanish interface. I used my phone and the Google Translate App. But I could not get it to work with my Mastercard. The hotel lobby also exchanges Pesos for Euros (and I guess USD).Next to that, you can visit the banks at 10th Avenue in Playa del Carmen.All prices seem to be in either Pesos and/or USD, but as I was in Mexico, therefor paid with Pesos or with my Mastercard.Taxi;Playa del Carmen is about 40 minutes away, on foot. By car it’s more like 10 minutes. There’s a standard (one way) rate between Playa del Carmen and Playacar, which is 120 Pesos. After 10PM it is 150 Pesos. Advice is to have you drop off at 5th Avenue. Which is where the shops start/are at.We’ll be back!

The service and decor is amazing. It's incomparable to Yucatan and Tequila. This resort is far superior and you can go to the other resorts if you want to use their amenities. I wouldn't waste my time doing so. Food and staff are amazing here. Second time at this resort and there will definitely be many more visits to come.

Staff are very friendly and very polite, if you tip a little they remember and will look after you even better, not that they dont anyway but they go the extra mile so to speak! It's in a great location, and sunbed abound the beach and tools so no towering your bed to save theres plenty? (I'm here in November) food is unbelievable theres so many things to eat st breakfast and dinner you could go all two weeks and not duplicate the food(or that's how it seems) beach is looked after and very clean as is the hotel, only complain is theres lots of coffee pouches in the room but no tea bags! So quite americanised and not britishised theres food at lunch too and if all inclusive all free, and it's very good and suits all pallets on the beach or in the steakhouse on the beach edge, theres four restaurants Italian, Japanese, steakhouse, and mexican which serves everything you could wish for, I havent taken pictures yet of the good layout as its amazing but would probably fill my memory card theres so much choice, the atmosphere is very good too and theres plenty to do in and around and shops just 2 mins walk for gifts etc been a riu hotel theres three togeather here and you can use all 3 but your requested to use only the one your booked into for breakfast and dinner, but you can lunch in the others and as all inclusive use the bars and cafes pools beach and entertainments inc night time gigs

Debió haber tenido todo el esplendor, la elegancia y la categoria de un palace!! El minimalismo o el modernismo mal entendido hizo hoy un lugar q desconcierta. Se ven los vestigios señoriales del origen junto al agregados de un "arte sin calidad" pero moderno. Una pena!! En cuanto a la atención, el servicio y todo lo demás EXELENTE como siempre. Vine aquí esta vez porq el palace riviera maya lo están remodelando o tal vez destruyendo como a este...

Hermoso hotel. Excelente la hospitalidad y atención que brindan todos. Muy agradables las personas encargadas del servicio de la habitación y muy creativas, nos sorprendían cada día con las esculturas realizadas con una toalla y pétalos de flores. La limpieza llevada a cabo permanentemente. Las instalaciones bellas y bien conservas, como se aprecia en las fotos. Las piscinas y el mar inmejorables. Muy buena y variada la comida. El chocolate delicioso. Lo recomiendo.

Disfruté mucho mi estancia. La comida muy rica, la habitación espaciosa y agradable, en ningún momento dejaron de ofrecerme bebidas de todo tipo tanto en las albercas como en la playa. Sí no alcanzas comida en los horarios establecidos, hay un lugar que tiene alimentos las 24 horas. Mi esposo no pudo conectarse al wifi. En los shows nocturnos deben esforzarse más, he visto mejores. El personal es muy ameno y agradable.

Es increíble este hotel limpio, seguro, instalaciones modernas. Con piscinas y Acceso a playa. Y a pesar de ser Todo incluido recibes excelente atención. Cada día hay actividades recreaciones y cadanoche realizan shows en las instalaciones. La comida es excelente variada, ya que cuenta con 5 restaurantes y de lo mejor es lacalidad. 100% recomendado

El servicio es excelente....!!. Deliciosa bebidas para disfrutar en la playa....!! Los restaurantes temáticos tienen muy buenos platos, con presentación impecable. Los empleados son excelentes personas y ayudan al cliente en todo momento, siempre con una sonrisa. Los eventos nocturnos son muy buenos, cada noche se presentan diferentes artistas. Riu palace está muy cerca de una zona arqueológica y de la quinta avenida, la cual puedes llegar caminando. Recomendado 100%.

Bueno no se por donde comenzar,mi experiencia fue excelente algo totalmente fuera lo común, al llegar al hotel te quedas impresionado de la belleza del hotel en el lobby, la elegancia y limpieza, el check in es muy rápido tienes botones que te ayudan a llevar maletas a la hab mientras haces el check in, te entregan una tarjeta llave de hab para cada uno de los adultos y una tarjeta para retirar toallas por persona para el uso en la piscina o playa, luego cuando llegue a la habitación es increíble todo muy limpio impecable, hay caja fuerte, plancha, mesa para planchar, una mini terraza o balcón donde puedes fumar si fumas, muebles, un mini refri con todo incluido cervezas, refrescos, aguas, dispensadores de alcochol, hay maquina de hielo en los pasillos o lo puedes pedir al room service, también el room service es 24h pero un menú más limitado a pesar que ofrecen muchas cosas, la playa es imprecionante, tranquila poco oleaje y no es honda en las cercanías de la playa, hay suficientes puestos en la playa para todos, tienes mesoneros todo el día en la playa haciendo recorridos dándote tragos ya preparados o puedes pedir el que desees, luego esta el área de la piscina hay 1 con bar y 4 más al rededor para distintos usos actividades, igual hay gran cantidad de asientos en el área de la piscina. La atención de todo el personal es excelente nunca te dejan sin una bebida. Cabe destacar que todo el día hay actividades como clases de baile, dardos, bingo, zumba, juegos en playa, fútbol, bolibol de playa , bolibol en la piscina, todas las actividades son premiadas y son organizadas por el departamento de others service, personal de recreación del hotel y para mi hacen de tu estancia algo muy diferente, nunca te aburres siempre hay algo que hacer si no quieres salir del hotel y disfrutar del all inclusive. Todas las noches en la tarima de la terraza se presenta grupos distintos dándote un buen comienzo de la noche, la cena la puedes hacer de 630 a 10 en los 5 distintos restaurantes que hay, son un steak house, mexicano, japonés, italiano e internacional y uno lujuso cada uno tiene su código de vestimenta, luego de la cena comienza el show en. El teatro del hotel, donde siempre hay shows distintos cada noche para todo tipo de público, se viene acabando a15 para las 11 luego de un día lleno de actividades juegos mucha bebida y atracciones pero eso no es todo en el. Hotel riu tequila que está cruzando la calle está el antro pacha, pertenece al riu por lo cual tienes entrada libre y bebidas ilimitadas hasta las 2am ya después de ahí en adelante puedes descansar y esperar que venga el otro día y solo dedicarte a descansar comer tomar dormir y sentirte como un rey.

Definitivamente un Palacio!!..aquí me casé en el mes de Octubre y fue por demás el lugar donde se hicieron muchos realidad, la calidad y variedad de los alimentos es inigualable, el pool bar del hotel y las bebidas son lo mejor, los shows por las noches y el y el ambiente siempre amable hacen de este Palacio un lugar único y exclusivo para vacacionar

Been to the Riu Palace Mexico for our 14 day holiday.As we were a resident of the palace we had access to all the other Riu hotels in the gated area. How ever just to let you all know that theRui Place riviera maya is closed for refurbishment which we were advise of by TUI.The entertainment is to little poor as they have you tide to the resort a bit. If you are still after some fun they run a party night each Friday seem to be the best night all though the entertainment is based in Riu Tequila a walk over theacross the street. Once you been in the palace and have everything provided to you. Etc it worth mentioning you need to go to the bar your self in the other hotels as they don’t seem to offer waiter service.

Definitely my family and I had an excellent holiday experience in this Hotel, the staff in general from the lobby people, the cleaning staff, the entertainment staff, the waiters, the chefs, the sub-manager, always very friendly and ready to make you feel like a VIP guest, not to mention that breakfasts, lunches and dinners are excellent, I recommend this hotel 100%. Riu hotel = smelly rooms, cheap decor, terrible unhygienic food with flies and birds nibbling on food in the buffet. Nowhere near a 5-star level, more like 3-star hotel. Management lies when advertising it as 5-stars. Wouldn't refund us our money when we wanted to check out early. Total scammers. Would never stay at any Riu hotel and will warn everyone against it.***Like this review to make sure fellow travelers can see the truth and beware of fake reviews!!!***

Very good resort, we had an amazing honeymoon here. The resort has 5 thematic restaurants always open, which is very nice. The lobster on the grill restaurant is quite good. The Mexican restaurant is also very good. The beach is large and calm under the palm trees. The rooms are big but already noticing a need of update. They are from 2011 and with all the usage already show a bite of use. We spent here 9 nights we weren't never annoyed. the hotel as a good animation team and the option to rent a car in the reception at market prices, which is very handy if you wish to do your own tour. I really recommend this place.

Before I was given 5 stars for this resort but now I would not say more than 3. Service went down a lot, bad quality of food and same food every day no variety of food. No one cleaning the beach area from see weeds. No onefrom hotel personnel give any warning about hurricane they'd just put a red flags on the Beach area like usual everyday should put at least flyers in every room or tell everyone well people go to buffet in the morning.

We have been to Riu Aruba so we kind of knew the quality and standard of these resorts but we got more amazed by this property. From Cleanliness to Catering, Entertainment to the enormous size of this property, its just wow factor everywhere !!!Staffs are working very hard and very friendly to keep us happy. Entertainment crew worked hard in the day time near the beaches and night time in the theater. Wifi is pretty strong through out the resort and the 'no reservation needed A Le Carte restaurants' were breeze to check in for dinner.Overall, from airport transfers (kudos to sunwing ) to check in, room cleanliness, quality of the food, quality of the beach, its an amazing experience !!!

Thank you to Maria & Ariceli, who make the best coffee; Alex and Animel, who make the best drinks whether it's poolside or in the bar. The chefs are amazing and the food was just excellent. The toilet is horrible, tight and there's no fan; desperately needs remodeling. The beds were not comfortable at all, but what I lacked in sleep in the room, I made up for it on the beach! Food allergies: Yes, i have plenty and this hotel was somewhat knowledgeable, but good luck with cross-contamination! I got sick for 4 out of 6 days. The grounds were very clean with employees working round the clock to ensure the common areas were spotless. The best part is you can also visit the neighboring RIU hotels. The 5th avenue shops are approximately 20-25 minute walk from the resort; the cab ride is about $7; be careful as cabbies will try to rip you off if you don't have exact dollars to pay for your ride. They claim to have no 'change'. EDIT: Revising my review as I forgot an item in my room; after several methods to contact, hotel is doing nothing to provide a solution, and did not email me until a week later. Either stolen by staff or thrown out.

What can I say everything was amazing. This was our 2nd holiday here and you can't find fault with anything. Food gorgeous staff amazing especially Edward in the dining room and the lady that served us tea and coffee at breakfast, (sorry forgotten her name. A very good hotel. The service was excellent. The food was great. It was difficult to choose what to eat, there was so much choice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The live music in the evening was most enjoyable. The pianist playing in the lobby bar (Mon.-Fri.) was superb. We listened to his varied repertoire every day.It is a shame that it is impossible to close the hotel room doors without them banging loudly. The room itself was large, the beds very comfortable. If the journey from Germany was shorter, I would certainly come more often.

It is a beautiful place to stay.The buffet and restaurants on resort had a great selection.Huge pool and beach.Only downside was there was a lot of seaweed on the beach.Many activities for families and couples. The entertainment staff was on point!The rooms were very nice. The bathroom could use some updating and toilets were located right behind the door In the junior suites.The mattresses were a little older as well.Silly thing to comment on, but the toilet paper was a bit harsh.Overall, we would stay there again.

The food was good - many different options :) Especially I liked dinners in Guacamole restaurant.Special thanks to Joe and the entire activity team who managed fun events!One note, this hotel looks like more for adults, they do not have a lot of interesting stuff for kids.

The hotel seems like 3 stars hotel than a 5 stars hotel. The room is old, small, smelly, 2 beds put together, no views, nothing is interesting or impressive. About FOOD, I was really surprised that the food in 5 stars resort is so worst. The Guacamole buffet was so terrible, flies flied in most of the foods, craws were eating in the desserts plates. All the foods at the buffet taste so so, not good or can say really bad. The only think I could eat at the buffet are potato chips and pancakes. There were no any real orange juice or any kind of real juices. The drink juices of them mix in very cheap way and bad. The coffee was terrible.After we checked in then we came to the buffet to eat and saw all the happened, we really disappointed and would like to cancel the days left. The hotel disagreed and said that because we paid by credit card so we couldn’t cancel it. I really don’t know what different between cash and credit card? Your reason is really terrible to us.Definitely lies about 5 stars level. Warning everyone, save your money and go different places. With that money you can eat anything you want at a good restaurant, drink anything real and good and sleep at a better room.

Fabulous hotel.Our daughter was being married on the beach of the hotel in October, 2018 and the staff were efficient and helpful.The food was fabulous and a special thank you to Roman, at the front desk.He was very helpful and accommodating.Victor, poolside, was courteous and made sure that we could want for nothing.We loved our room overlooking the fountains and center courtyard and we loved the ambiance and old world charm of the hotel.It truly was an amazing vacation and the wedding, at the end of the week, was the grand finale.:)

Love the place went in July for our honeymoon staff work hard food excellent service is also excellent geronimo who cleaned our room was a great help took some football tops out and gave them away to some of the staff and waiters there faces lit up couldn't believe I was giving them gifts but the only down side was the night time entertainment which was not to my taste I also found some Americans very rude to the staff manners cost nothing but I will definitely be going back xx

This place was by far the best place I have ever been to. I'm from Ohio and this was my first time leaving the country, so I haven't really been anywhere globally. Me and my wife are git married on the beach here at the palace! The staff was beyond spectacular as was the photographer at the resort! Food was good many options but i was ready to eat real pizza and wings when i got back to the States😂. The views are unforgettable! The water was clear but changed daily. Thank You Riu Hotels. We will be back!

Es increíble este hotel limpio, seguro, instalaciones modernas. Con piscinas y Acceso a playa. Y a pesar de ser Todo incluido recibes excelente atención. Cada día hay actividades recreaciones y cadanoche realizan shows en las instalaciones. La comida es excelente variada, ya que cuenta con 5 restaurantes y de lo mejor es lacalidad. 100% recomendado

El servicio es excelente....!!. Deliciosa bebidas para disfrutar en la playa....!! Los restaurantes temáticos tienen muy buenos platos, con presentación impecable. Los empleados son excelentes personas y ayudan al cliente en todo momento, siempre con una sonrisa. Los eventos nocturnos son muy buenos, cada noche se presentan diferentes artistas. Riu palace está muy cerca de una zona arqueológica y de la quinta avenida, la cual puedes llegar caminando. Recomendado 100%.

Bueno no se por donde comenzar,mi experiencia fue excelente algo totalmente fuera lo común, al llegar al hotel te quedas impresionado de la belleza del hotel en el lobby, la elegancia y limpieza, el check in es muy rápido tienes botones que te ayudan a llevar maletas a la hab mientras haces el check in, te entregan una tarjeta llave de hab para cada uno de los adultos y una tarjeta para retirar toallas por persona para el uso en la piscina o playa, luego cuando llegue a la habitación es increíble todo muy limpio impecable, hay caja fuerte, plancha, mesa para planchar, una mini terraza o balcón donde puedes fumar si fumas, muebles, un mini refri con todo incluido cervezas, refrescos, aguas, dispensadores de alcochol, hay maquina de hielo en los pasillos o lo puedes pedir al room service, también el room service es 24h pero un menú más limitado a pesar que ofrecen muchas cosas, la playa es imprecionante, tranquila poco oleaje y no es honda en las cercanías de la playa, hay suficientes puestos en la playa para todos, tienes mesoneros todo el día en la playa haciendo recorridos dándote tragos ya preparados o puedes pedir el que desees, luego esta el área de la piscina hay 1 con bar y 4 más al rededor para distintos usos actividades, igual hay gran cantidad de asientos en el área de la piscina. La atención de todo el personal es excelente nunca te dejan sin una bebida. Cabe destacar que todo el día hay actividades como clases de baile, dardos, bingo, zumba, juegos en playa, fútbol, bolibol de playa , bolibol en la piscina, todas las actividades son premiadas y son organizadas por el departamento de others service, personal de recreación del hotel y para mi hacen de tu estancia algo muy diferente, nunca te aburres siempre hay algo que hacer si no quieres salir del hotel y disfrutar del all inclusive. Todas las noches en la tarima de la terraza se presenta grupos distintos dándote un buen comienzo de la noche, la cena la puedes hacer de 630 a 10 en los 5 distintos restaurantes que hay, son un steak house, mexicano, japonés, italiano e internacional y uno lujuso cada uno tiene su código de vestimenta, luego de la cena comienza el show en. El teatro del hotel, donde siempre hay shows distintos cada noche para todo tipo de público, se viene acabando a15 para las 11 luego de un día lleno de actividades juegos mucha bebida y atracciones pero eso no es todo en el. Hotel riu tequila que está cruzando la calle está el antro pacha, pertenece al riu por lo cual tienes entrada libre y bebidas ilimitadas hasta las 2am ya después de ahí en adelante puedes descansar y esperar que venga el otro día y solo dedicarte a descansar comer tomar dormir y sentirte como un rey.

Definitivamente un Palacio!!..aquí me casé en el mes de Octubre y fue por demás el lugar donde se hicieron muchos realidad, la calidad y variedad de los alimentos es inigualable, el pool bar del hotel y las bebidas son lo mejor, los shows por las noches y el y el ambiente siempre amable hacen de este Palacio un lugar único y exclusivo para vacacionar

Se ven los vestigios señoriales del origen junto al agregados de un "arte sin calidad" pero moderno. Una pena!! En cuanto a la atención, el servicio y todo lo demás EXELENTE como siempre. Hermoso hotel. Excelente la hospitalidad y atención que brindan todos. Muy agradables las personas encargadas del servicio de la habitación y muy creativas, nos sorprendían cada día con las esculturas realizadas con una toalla y pétalos de flores. La limpieza llevada a cabo permanentemente. Las instalaciones bellas y bien conservas, como se aprecia en las fotos. Las piscinas y el mar inmejorables. Muy buena y variada la comida. El chocolate delicioso. Lo recomiendo.

Disfruté mucho mi estancia. La comida muy rica, la habitación espaciosa y agradable, en ningún momento dejaron de ofrecerme bebidas de todo tipo tanto en las albercas como en la playa. Sí no alcanzas comida en los horarios establecidos, hay un lugar que tiene alimentos las 24 horas. Mi esposo no pudo conectarse al wifi. En los shows nocturnos deben esforzarse más, he visto mejores. El personal es muy ameno y agradable.

Riu hotel = smelly rooms, cheap decor, terrible unhygienic food with flies and birds nibbling on food in the buffet. Nowhere near a 5-star level, more like 3-star hotel. Management lies when advertising it as 5-stars. Wouldn't refund us our money when we wanted to check out early. Total scammers. Very good resort, we had an amazing honeymoon here. The resort has 5 thematic restaurants always open, which is very nice. The lobster on the grill restaurant is quite good. The Mexican restaurant is also very good. The beach is large and calm under the palm trees. The rooms are big but already noticing a need of update. They are from 2011 and with all the usage already show a bite of use. We spent here 9 nights we weren't never annoyed. the hotel as a good animation team and the option to rent a car in the reception at market prices, which is very handy if you wish to do your own tour. I really recommend this place.

Before I was given 5 stars for this resort but now I would not say more than 3. Service went down a lot, bad quality of food and same food every day no variety of food. No one cleaning the beach area from see weeds. Been to the Riu Palace Mexico for our 14 day holiday.As we were a resident of the palace we had access to all the other Riu hotels in the gated area. How ever just to let you all know that theRui Place riviera maya is closed for refurbishment which we were advise of by TUI.The entertainment is to little poor as they have you tide to the resort a bit. If you are still after some fun they run a party night each Friday seem to be the best night all though the entertainment is based in Riu Tequila a walk over theacross the street. Once you been in the palace and have everything provided to you. Etc it worth mentioning you need to go to the bar your self in the other hotels as they don’t seem to offer waiter service.

Excelente atención, buena calidad de comidas y bebidas. El baño demasiado chico, único detalle negativo. La gente muy amable, siempre predispuesta a ayudar y que la experiencia sea excelente. La playa muy limpia, días atrás había muchas algas, ahora la han sacado y limpiado completamente. Como se ven en las fotos la habitación cuenta con dos niveles, una cama amplia y se puede pedir a la habitación bebida y comida. Recomendable.

Estuve la semana del 12 de Octubre de 2018. Muy recomendable de lo mejor que estuve por el caribe.Estuve en distintos hoteles por el Caribe en el pasado. La verdad que la atención de la gente en México es muy superior a experiencias en otros destinos como Cuba o Dominicana.Hace un año pasamos una semana en RIU Bávaro de republica Dominicana. El hotel y la infraestructura similar. Sin embargo, la animación de este, así como la actividad para los chicos muy superior en el México. Había un coordinador Antonio que se encargaba todos los días para que mis hijos chicos, por mas que tuviese pocos niños en el hotel. por la época del año., tuvieran actividades y la pasaran diez puntos. La chica de RIULAND jugaban con ellos y les hacían actividades divertidas. Muy recomendable espero volver.En cuanto a lo único negativo, un poco la playa por el tema del sargazo. La verdad que cuando llega a la costa afea la playa y el mar. Pero es algo netamente climático y afecta a toda la costa por igual.

Riu Palace México es un hotel muy bien situado y tranquilo, con playa privada y unas habitaciones estupendas y maravillosas. También cuenta con un personal de trabajo muy profesional y atento, siempre a la disposición del huésped.El buffet del hotel es muy bueno y con mucha variedad al igual que los diferentes restaurantes temáticos 😍. El staff de animación es maravilloso y los show están muy bien currados y siempre con una sonrisa, gracias a tod@s, nosotros volveremos 😍😍.Lo único que tengo que decir malo fue el tema de la playa, que por causas ajenas al hotel están llenas de sargazo (un alga que sale del océano) la cual cubría todas las playas de Playa del Carmen y no dejaban utilizar sus magníficas playas. Por lo demás un 9.9 😍

Lo que sí es importante advertir que, si bien las playas son hermosas, el mar no lo es tanto por la gran cantidad de algas que el agua trae (zargazo), que hace que entrar al mar sea una situación NO PLACENTERA.

We were treated like royalty and went out of their way for us.Rooms were really clean and modern, fridge was stocked and never had any issues with more water, beer or pop.Food was excellent. I highly suggest to try every restaurant while you are there. Buffet had so many options for breakfast and would have daily stations set up, always different. The bbq at the pool was also very delicious.Great experience, stayed at Riu Playacar first and that was also a great hotel, we knew this Hotel would of been better and it surpassed our expectations.

From the initial arrival to the time of leaving 14 nights later the staff at this hotel were amazing, they are extremely welcoming and will go out of their way to accommodate you. There's always someone around to make sure you are catered for.The hotel itself is a beachfront resort, very nice with lots of wonderful features and is managed extremely well. We wanted for nothing in our room, we had everything we could ever need for our 2 week stay and it was kept clean on a daily basis by the staff.The food was excellent, there's 4 speciality restaurants and a large main buffet style dining room with outside tables if you so wish. The variety of foods available in the main buffet is extensive and caters for everyone. The four other speciality restaurants offer the extra option of a more specific dining experience. Our personal favourite? The Japanese theme, although we did frequent the steakhouse quite often as well.We're not one's for lounging around pools, but there are 3 pools, one of them with a swim up bar. We're more of beachy people and this hotel is situated on a nice stretch of white sands with plenty of sunbeds and an excellent drinks waiter service, I won't say too much about the beach as I'll be reviewing it separately.What else? Indoor entertainment area, well stocked bars, nice coffee lounge, a 24hr Lounge with food and drinks (handy if you've been out on a day excursion and miss the main buffet).Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely.

Loved this place. This is the first time I actually signed up for their membership points knowing I will definitely be back. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained, clean luxurious. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. Beach was beautiful, despite times of seaweed. It seemed like this resort was doing more than neighboring resorts to combat the issue.Food was excellent with lots to choose from for breakfast and dinner. Lunch was so-so, same everyday and I didn’t even want what was offered. Entertainment was also so-so. Most nights it was performed by the hotel staff (which were good, but not professional). Other nights it was... well it was just ok, like in most other resorts. Also, the calendar for entertainment was not accurate, for one day that were very excited to see circus, it was dancers instead. No one could answer why this was the case. Sandos Caracol set the bar on entertainment very high when they had acrobats equivalent to Cirque de Soleil. There are barely any animals at the resort, no lizards, no turtles. It was only a few Mexican Agoutis, and a few cats. And while perhaps this helped keep the resort clean, it sort of made it sterile. Other than that, I’ve really enjoyed it, and I will be back. The loss of star is for so-so entertainment and not great lunches.

I LOVED it here. We were moved here from Dreams Puerto Aventuras and let me tell you the difference is night and day. The grounds are well kept and the resort itself is beautiful. There was variety at the buffet and the food was delicious. I will say one thing that is missing is the option to have freshly made juice (this was offered at Barcelo and Secrets Silversands). However, the Cappuccino section made up for it. They had delicious frapps, teas, desserts, etc. The rooms are nice and come with a stocked fridge with your basic water, sodas, and beers. Our room did have four bottles to choose from ( tequila, vodka, rum, and something else). We never had any issues getting a shaded area on the beach or pool so that was a plus. They have basic service on the beach meaning a server carries a large tray with your basic beer, water, piña coladas, or a blue drink. I recommend taking your own tumbler so you can stop by the bar prior to heading for the beach and not need a refill as frequently. I will say the beach did have seaweed but nothing compared to the first place we were at. The last thing I want to comment on is the entertainment. While they were all nice and outgoing there was still something missing. Maybe more advertising of when the shows take place. Also I thought the hotel would do more in regards to the World Cup. I'd definitely go back though. All the servers were nice and extremely helpful. A few in particular were Lucy from the Cappuccino bar. Francisco and Antonio from the buffet and Axel from the bar.A major shout-out to all of them. Thank you to Riu Palace Mexico for a wonderful experience. We will be back.Jessica

I visited in June and there was quite a lot of seaweed on the edge of the sea, but this will be the same all down the coast. The hotel do an excellent job of trying to clear as much of the seaweed as possible and it is still beautiful to swim in. If you are thinking of visiting here just go for it, and I would recommend paying the little extra and going to Riu Palace Mexico over the other Riu hotels as I think it is really worth it!! You won't be disappointed

Excelente atención, buena calidad de comidas y bebidas. El baño demasiado chico, único detalle negativo. La gente muy amable, siempre predispuesta a ayudar y que la experiencia sea excelente. La playa muy limpia, días atrás había muchas algas, ahora la han sacado y limpiado completamente. Como se ven en las fotos la habitación cuenta con dos niveles, una cama amplia y se puede pedir a la habitación bebida y comida. Recomendable.

Estuve la semana del 12 de Octubre de 2018. Muy recomendable de lo mejor que estuve por el caribe.Estuve en distintos hoteles por el Caribe en el pasado. La verdad que la atención de la gente en México es muy superior a experiencias en otros destinos como Cuba o Dominicana.Hace un año pasamos una semana en RIU Bávaro de republica Dominicana. El hotel y la infraestructura similar. Sin embargo, la animación de este, así como la actividad para los chicos muy superior en el México. Había un coordinador Antonio que se encargaba todos los días para que mis hijos chicos, por mas que tuviese pocos niños en el hotel. por la época del año., tuvieran actividades y la pasaran diez puntos. La chica de RIULAND jugaban con ellos y les hacían actividades divertidas. Muy recomendable espero volver.En cuanto a lo único negativo, un poco la playa por el tema del sargazo. La verdad que cuando llega a la costa afea la playa y el mar. Pero es algo netamente climático y afecta a toda la costa por igual.

Riu Palace México es un hotel muy bien situado y tranquilo, con playa privada y unas habitaciones estupendas y maravillosas. También cuenta con un personal de trabajo muy profesional y atento, siempre a la disposición del huésped.El buffet del hotel es muy bueno y con mucha variedad al igual que los diferentes restaurantes temáticos 😍. El staff de animación es maravilloso y los show están muy bien currados y siempre con una sonrisa, gracias a tod@s, nosotros volveremos 😍😍.Lo único que tengo que decir malo fue el tema de la playa, que por causas ajenas al hotel están llenas de sargazo (un alga que sale del océano) la cual cubría todas las playas de Playa del Carmen y no dejaban utilizar sus magníficas playas. Por lo demás un 9.9 😍

Es un lugar agradable,con distintas alternativas gastronómica. Muy buena atención de su personal. Jardines hermosos y cinco piletas. Lo que sí es importante advertir que, si bien las playas son hermosas, el mar no lo es tanto por la gran cantidad de algas que el agua trae (zargazo), que hace que entrar al mar sea una situación NO PLACENTERA.

We were treated like royalty and went out of their way for us.Rooms were really clean and modern, fridge was stocked and never had any issues with more water, beer or pop.Food was excellent. I highly suggest to try every restaurant while you are there. Buffet had so many options for breakfast and would have daily stations set up, always different. The bbq at the pool was also very delicious.Great experience, stayed at Riu Playacar first and that was also a great hotel, we knew this Hotel would of been better and it surpassed our expectations.

From the initial arrival to the time of leaving 14 nights later the staff at this hotel were amazing, they are extremely welcoming and will go out of their way to accommodate you. There's always someone around to make sure you are catered for.The hotel itself is a beachfront resort, very nice with lots of wonderful features and is managed extremely well. We wanted for nothing in our room, we had everything we could ever need for our 2 week stay and it was kept clean on a daily basis by the staff.The food was excellent, there's 4 speciality restaurants and a large main buffet style dining room with outside tables if you so wish. The variety of foods available in the main buffet is extensive and caters for everyone. The four other speciality restaurants offer the extra option of a more specific dining experience. Our personal favourite? The Japanese theme, although we did frequent the steakhouse quite often as well.We're not one's for lounging around pools, but there are 3 pools, one of them with a swim up bar. We're more of beachy people and this hotel is situated on a nice stretch of white sands with plenty of sunbeds and an excellent drinks waiter service, I won't say too much about the beach as I'll be reviewing it separately.What else? Indoor entertainment area, well stocked bars, nice coffee lounge, a 24hr Lounge with food and drinks (handy if you've been out on a day excursion and miss the main buffet).Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely.

Loved this place. This is the first time I actually signed up for their membership points knowing I will definitely be back. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained, clean luxurious. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. Beach was beautiful, despite times of seaweed. It seemed like this resort was doing more than neighboring resorts to combat the issue.Food was excellent with lots to choose from for breakfast and dinner. Lunch was so-so, same everyday and I didn’t even want what was offered. Entertainment was also so-so. Most nights it was performed by the hotel staff (which were good, but not professional). Other nights it was... well it was just ok, like in most other resorts. Also, the calendar for entertainment was not accurate, for one day that were very excited to see circus, it was dancers instead. No one could answer why this was the case. Sandos Caracol set the bar on entertainment very high when they had acrobats equivalent to Cirque de Soleil. There are barely any animals at the resort, no lizards, no turtles. It was only a few Mexican Agoutis, and a few cats. And while perhaps this helped keep the resort clean, it sort of made it sterile. Other than that, I’ve really enjoyed it, and I will be back. The loss of star is for so-so entertainment and not great lunches.

Más tranquilo, para pasarlo mejor y más barato recomiendo el Riu Playa car la gente es más joven (28-35) más diverso y la diferencia de precios no se justifica para nada. Ni si quiera las habitaciones del Palace son mejores. Lo diferente es que para los restoranes no hay que hacer reservación... Si estas en la duda de a cual ir. We just got back from 7 nights at the Riu Palace Mexico in Playa del Carmen. This was our second vacation at this hotel, and our 4th stay at a Riu Palace. I don't know why anyone would stay at any other Riu level property, as the savings is really not worth the difference in service and quality. As people have mentioned, the rooms can be a bit musty, but it's par for the course in Mexico with the humidity. The food is very good, but not gourmet foodie Michelin star level good, but that can't be a criticism for an all inclusive resort. For example, one night they were cooking steaks (all cuts) to order, had a leg of prosciutto that they were shaving, along with caviar. So, it's top notch stuff, and it's very good, it's just not going to rival an excellent stand alone restaurant.The beach is nearly perfect, which is why we returned, and the service is EXCELLENT. That being said, tipping is not required, and you can literally have great service without tipping a dollar. However, I've found tipping $5 USD at breakfast and dinner gets you a higher personalized level of service. For example, by the second morning Abraham knew our breakfast drink preferences (mimosas, coffee, & waters all around), knew where we wanted to sit, and generally remembered our plans from the previous day and asked about them. I also tipped a few dollars throughout the day to servers if they brought me drinks by the pool or beach. The room service menu is kind of a joke (besides the fruit, that's good), but I ate so well throughout the day, it was never even a thought.The drinks on the beach and at the pool during the day, especially the frozen ones, are weak. Then again, how strong do you need your 10AM pina coloda to be? (I'm sure you could always ask for a heavier pour). The drinks on the patio in the evening were much better, and the mojitos were especially good in the evenings.Pro tip: Say you want to have a bottle of champagne or wine for the room, maybe to enjoy on the terrace? Room service won't bring you one, and it's pretty lame to order 4 glasses from the lobby bar. However, the 24 hour lounge keeps bottles of champagne and wine in a glass door fridge. We took a bottle of champagne for the room without any trouble.

The service and decor is amazing. It's incomparable to Yucatan and Tequila. This resort is far superior and you can go to the other resorts if you want to use their amenities. I wouldn't waste my time doing so. Food and staff are amazing here. Second time at this resort and there will definitely be many more visits to come.

This is a great hotel, but what really makes it special are the workers. They seem genuinely happy to see you and try to remember you. When we came back a year later, many of them remembered us and told us welcome back. Our waiters even remembered our favorite drinks from a year prior.

Generalmente prefiero los restaurantes a la carta, pero acá el buffet es tan bueno que dan ganas de comer ahí. La decoración no me gusta mucho, pero son gustos. Muy recomendado!!! We spent two amazing weeks at this resort last year - and we scheduled our honeymoon for June 2020. However COVID made it impossible to travel to Mexico. Hopefully we can rebook for June 2021 - and see the amazing staff again. Really a lovely place!

The service and decor is amazing. It's incomparable to Yucatan and Tequila. This resort is far superior and you can go to the other resorts if you want to use their amenities. I wouldn't waste my time doing so. Food and staff are amazing here. Second time at this resort and there will definitely be many more visits to come.

Un calido trato de todo el personal del hotel,siempre bien predispuestos y serviciales, excelente la variedad y calidad de la comida , hermosa playa. Lo que no meresultaagradable es la renovacion realizada, le quitaron la personalidad que tenia el Hotel, ahora parece una onda retro de los años 70en un color violaceo .

Te atienden como rey !! Excelente servicio lo único que no me gusto fue que vendan demasiado formalismo a ciertos restaurantes y pues pienso que a un hotel se viene a vacacionar y no a formalizar las comidas.

El hotel está bonito la atención es muy buena , lo que no me gustó fue que de 4 personas que lo visitamos 3 se enfermaron con la comida de ahíy no tienen un doctor en el hotel si quieres un doctor te cuesta 150 dólaresy por otro lado los que limpian las habitaciones no las limpian bien .
