“After several years of visiting Whistler, we decided to try a new hotel. From the exterior, the place looked amazing. I am sure in the off season, it’s worth an off season rate. When paying $1500 a night for hotel over Family Day weekend - the leaders of the hotel should step up, lead and deliver. The leaders here failed us with overbooking and under staffing. While several associates (Hamilton at the front desk) were amazing. His leader (“G.....”) hid in the back office making himself unavailable to assist. Our room actually had holes and tears in the bathroom towels. Dishes in the dishwasher from a previous guest and dirt/rocks on the floor. We tipped the room steward on the first night and left a note in hopes for a little spiff up, no luck. As a loyal Marriott guest, I’m so disturbed at how this place ever achieved 4.4 stars. Either likely all a recent failure or they have found another way to promote their business. On a positive note, Ski Valet and the CAN SKI team was awesome.”

“3 star hotel charging 4 star prices. We arrived at 4 pm (official check in time) and were told we'd get a phone call in 10 min, as our room needed to be inspected). An hour later, we finally line up again to ask about our room. This time we were told they were too busy to phone us and that we should have come up sooner. Great start. Our room lacked proper AC, could never get the temp below 21 C, no paper towels in the kitchen, half the dishes were still in the dishwasher and oddly one pillow was only half covered by a much too small pillow case. The pool is, at best, lukewarm in spots and cold in others which isn't so enjoyable when it's 5 below outside. There is only 1 hot tub outside that fits 10 - 12 people and so was packed every night. The hotel doesn't want ski gear in the rooms but then charge $10 per pair per day. On the plus side, the location is great and the fireplace in the room was nice. But that's about it. We've previously booked the Fairmont and Four Seasons and will go back to them for future trips as they are definitely 4 star hotels.”
