The Westin Houston Downtown

With gorgeous rooms featuring the latest amenities the non-smoking Westin Houston Downtown features complimentary downtown transportation a well-regarded restaurant and a modern fitness center. Opening its doors in 2013 the 12-story Westin Houston Downtown has given a top-to-bottom makeover to a classic building. With soaring ceilings and crown molding the 200 non-smoking rooms and suites combine a traditional look with the latest amenities including 42-inch LCD TVs with international programming and wired and wireless internet access. Finish that last-minute paperwork at the well-lit desks or relax on the pillowtop beds dressed in luxe linens. Electronic safes and coffeemakers add to the appeal. Robes hang in the handsome bathrooms. The restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner and room service is another option. If you want to stick to your workout plan there's a fitness room with the latest generation of equipment. Pets are welcome and you can arrange for extras like the "heavenly" dog beds. Transportation around the downtown area is complimentary and valet parking is available. In the city's historic district the Westin Houston Downtown puts you close to Highway 59 I-10 and I-49. This is a great spot for sports fans: the Houston Astros have their home field across the street at Minute Maid Park and the Rockets and Aeros play less than a mile away at the Toyota Center. For business travelers just a few blocks away is the George R. Brown Convention Center. William P. Hobby Airport is 10 miles south and 20 miles north is George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

“Very disappointing.Front desk was dishonest about room upgrades, despite my platinum status and the hotel being less than 50% occupied. As much as I travel, especially on a Monday, upgrades are relished and an act of appreciation. To be denied is disappointing and comes with consequences. That’s a warning to seasoned travelers. The rest of the hotel was fine.So my review is negative to mixed. Muito decepcionante. A recepção foi desonesta sobre upgrades de quarto, apesar do meu status de platina e do hotel estar com menos de 50% de ocupação. Por mais que eu viaje, especialmente na segunda-feira, os upgrades são apreciados e um ato de agradecimento. Ser negado é decepcionante e traz consequências. Isso é um aviso para viajantes experientes. O resto do hotel estava bem. Portanto, meu comentário é negativo a misto.”

“Good location across from the ballpark, and friendly employees at the Front Desk and bar. Here's why I'm leaving a dismal 2 start rating: Approximately 15-20 minutes after checking out, my wife noticed that our son left his pillow, w/ customized pillow case in the room. Yes, this is *his* fault, but my wife immediately called and spoke with Security, in which they promised to have someone call back. No return phone call. My wife proceeds to call back two additional times. One employee said that we'd have to pay to have it sent back. Ok, fine. The employee never called back to confirm shipping. My wife called back a fourth time, and still they failed to call back, as promised. Listen- I get it; my son made a mistake, but we called back literally minutes after leaving (We just got on I45), and the room hadn't even been cleaned yet. What's disturbing, other than the fact, my son's customized pillow case (more sentimental than anything) is gone, it's the fact that each employee has failed to live up to their promise to call back. Horrible customer service, and not what I'd expect from a Westin property. I will now have to file a complaint with corporate, and I now consider this an act of theft.”
